Can U Dig It RC did not start in a boardroom. It started as a family idea.
Tim, his wife Jenn, and their daughter Kenlee wanted to build something people could do, not just watch. The idea was simple: put the controls in people’s hands and let them operate realistic RC construction equipment and rock crawlers for themselves.
That idea became Can U Dig It RC.
A Business Built Around Doing, Not Watching
Remote-controlled excavators, loaders, dump trucks and crawlers are fascinating to watch, but owning them is a different story. Good equipment can be expensive, it needs space, it needs maintenance, and most families do not have a dedicated dirt pit or technical crawler course at home.
We saw an opportunity to make the experience accessible. A guest could show up, get a quick introduction, take a controller and immediately begin digging, loading, crawling and figuring things out for themselves.
Why Being a Family Business Matters
From the beginning, the three of us were involved in the real work. That meant transporting equipment, setting up events, repairing machines, talking with customers, changing the experience based on feedback and figuring out what worked as we went.
That family perspective also kept us focused on something important: Can U Dig It RC had to be fun for people who knew absolutely nothing about the RC hobby. It could not be built only for experienced hobbyists.
The Idea Kept Growing
What began as a mobile experience eventually led to a permanent indoor location in Erlanger, Kentucky. The store added regular sessions, birthday parties, Friday Night Crawl, crawler competitions, battle tanks and a growing community around the hobby.
Behind the scenes, we also began building our own software and systems because running this kind of business created problems that ordinary booking tools were not designed to solve.
